How StreamAlive became Zoom’s app of the month for February
Did you know that there are almost 3,000 apps available in the Zoom app marketplace?
Every major SaaS and Tech company you can think of has an app in the Zoom marketplace, from Hubspot to DocuSign, Slack to Figma.
Just over a year ago we submitted the StreamAlive app for Zoom to the Zoom marketplace.
It makes it much easier to launch StreamAlive’s interactions in a Zoom session.
It was a big moment for us as it was the first app we had developed for another platform.
It was also a huge catalyst for our growth - we had 650% more signups in December than we did in January before our app for Zoom was available.
Since then we’ve been listening to feedback and iterated on the app experience. Almost every week we have been pushing a new update.
We’ve also been bugging the awesome team at Zoom, getting their advice, help, and support to make the app better.

As we showed StreamAlive to more and more people inside Zoom, the word spread that there was a generative AI tool that could create and run interactions for your Zoom meeting.
We’ve always thought that being able to run polls and word clouds and spinner wheels and maps was the biggest draw for StreamAlive, but for the Zoom team it was the generative AI that interested them the most.
StreamAlive uses generative AI to save you the hassle of building audience engagement activities from scratch. Just type in a topic, and SteamAlive creates a collection of interactive visuals designed to get people talking, from quick polls to colorful word clouds, spinner wheels, and magic maps that display live locations as people type them.

Given that Zoom is a $26 billion company full of very smart people, we might have to rethink our marketing messages!
We first learned that StreamAlive was in contention to being app of the month in early December. Since then we’ve been crossing fingers and toes for it to happen.
In the middle of January we received an email that said StreamAlive would be app of the month for February. We’ve been dying to tell everyone the news since then, but had to wait for the official announcement of Zoom.

So what do Hubspot, Figma, DocuSign, and StreamAlive all have in common?
They’ve all been a Zoom app of the month 😊 (and really awesome tools that we love!).
Lux talks more about the StreamAlive journey in his latest post on LinkedIn.
