🗺️Revamping Magic Maps to be even better
What’s one thing (nearly) every streamer, facilitator, or webinar host asks at the start of a live session?
Where are you joining us from?
And when there’s a larger audience, most of the people get ignored.
That’s why so many presenters use StreamAlive’s Magic Maps. It gets a little “wow” from the audience the first time they see it, so if you haven’t used it already, go ahead and try it!
We’ve been thinking of ways to make Magic Maps even more Magic-er, so maybe that “wow” becomes a “whoa!”
This is what we’ve got so far:
1. Local info
To encourage more dialogue between the presenter and the audience, when the presenter hovers over a location it brings up an info box with a picture of a local landmark from that location, the current weather and the time.
We’re also looking at adding some quick facts about the location.
(The info box can be turned off and on in the settings).
2. Gradient backgrounds
We’re letting you customize the sea and land further by adding gradient backgrounds. Create your own gradient or choose from our pre-defined options.
3. Larger pins
Instead of a small dot to show a location we’re going to add the user’s profile pic or first letter of their username to make it even more personal.
When will it be available?
The coding is almost complete and then we’re going to be rolling it out to our alpha and beta testers group later this month.
Once we’ve got their feedback after testing it in the field we hope to roll it out to everyone by the middle of February!
Use existing pre-built themes for Magic Maps
In the meantime, you can still make your maps look awesome by defining your custom colors or using one of our pre-made themes to change the style of the maps.
