They have an amazing conference starting tomorrow. It’s fully virtual, and the fantastic team at Astro Society are huge believers in dialogues > monologues. The timing is pretty significant. And it’s not just about astronomy in the 250th year of American independence. Here’s what’s happening….

Almost everybody has heard of the Hubble Telescope. You may also have heard of Nancy Grace Roman, who is known as the “mother of Hubble” and NASA’s first Chief of Astronomy. Well, NASA’s newest telescope, the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope (NGRST in short) scheduled to launch into space on August 30th, less than a week from today.

Here is more on this fantastic endeavor and testament to human ingenuity. The Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope will settle essential questions in the areas of dark energy, exoplanets, and astrophysics.

While the (rest of the) conference charges a nominal fee, the following event on Day One is absolutely free to the public.
